The American Samoa government has made it a priority to establish a first ever Territorial Marine Science Center (MSC). The institution is envisioned for teaching and learning about the sea, its natural resources and its interaction with island environments by supporting local, regional and international scientific research, education, public outreach, and economic development in service to all peoples of the United States and Greater Pacific Basin.
We are currently seeking support from interested parties, including local and regional governments, universities, non-governmental organizations, and other agencies, to collaboratively promote our ongoing efforts to fund the MSC. Support can consist of development 'seed' funding to begin construction on the MSC as well as letters of support/interest from interested Universities and academic research institutions to form Preferred University Partnerships with American Samoa. Any assistance to help American Samoa move forward with the development of the territorial Marine Science Center is greatly appreciated.
