Coral Restoration

Anthropogenic disturbances, such as climate change, and chronic and acute stressors, such as coral bleaching events, severely threaten coral reef ecosystems. Infrequent mass coral bleaching events and annual bleaching have already been documented in American Samoa. Coral reef ecosystems provide irreplaceable ecosystem services such as habitat for marine life and shoreline protection.
